Landing Craft Utility 1655, assigned to Assault Craft Unit 2, approaches the well deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Nassau after dropping off Sailors and Marines. LCU-1655, the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, the amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland and the amphibious transport dock ship USS Mesa Verde are embarked aboard Nassau as part of the Nassau Amphibious Ready Group supporting Operation Unified Response following the 7.0 magnitude earthquake near Port-au-Prince on Jan. 12.
