Coast Guard Cutter Valiant crew transports seized contraband from one of the eight vessels interdicted during their eight-week patrol in the Eastern Pacific. Before returning home to Naval Station Mayport, Florida March 9, 2016, the cutter seized approximately $141 million worth of contraband. These counter-drug interdictions were carried out as part of Operation Martillo, an international operation focused on sharing information and bringing together air, land, and maritime assets from the U.S. Department of Defense, the Department of Homeland Security, and Western Hemisphere and European partner nation agencies to counter illicit trafficking.
