160309-N-PD309-869 WATERS NEAR GUAM (March 9, 2016) Lt. j.g. Yuki Ito of the Japan Maritime Self Defense Force (JMSDF) views ships conducting high-speed maneuvering surface target exercises while acting as a liaison officer to the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Benfold (DDG 65) for Multi Sail 2016. Multi Sail is an annual, bilateral training exercise aimed at interoperability between the U.S. and Japanese forces, benefiting from realistic, shared training, enhancing our ability to our work together to confront any contingency.
