160312-N-YR245-214 EAST SEA (March 12, 2016) A Republic of Korea Navy vessel and amphibious assault vehicles, assigned to amphibious assault ship USS Boxer (LHD 4) form up in preparation for a beach strike during Exercise Ssang Yong 16. Boxer is the flagship of the Boxer Amphibious Ready Group and is participating in Exercise Ssang Yong 16. Ssang Yong is a biennial combined amphibious exercise conducted by forward-deployed U.S. forces with the Republic of Korea Navy and Marine Corps, Australian Army Forces in order to strengthen our interoperability and working relationships across a wide range of military operations – from disaster relief to complex expeditionary operations.
