Command Sgt. Maj. Sharon Campbell, accepts the 94th Training Division colors from the commander, Brig. Gen. Steven W. Ainsworth, during a change of responsibility ceremony at Fort Lee, Va., March 18, 2016. By accepting the colors, Campbell became the first female to hold the command sergeant major position. The command sergeant major is the commander’s primary advisor and sets the standard across the command for enlisted Soldiers. Campbell will now be responsible for the Soldiers’ performance, training, appearance, and conduct. She’ll also be providing direction and guidance to more than 35 other command sergeants major assigned to subordinate units.
