160309-N-RM689-015 SEA OF JAPAN (March 9, 2016) - Electronics Technician Seaman Lindsey Balch (left), Command Master Chief Gary Wise, and Ensign Tia Blue, all assigned to amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48), participate in a command mentorship meeting where the Mentor and Mentee sign the mentorship contract. Ashland is assigned to the Bonhomme Richard Expeditionary Strike Group and is participating in Ssang Yong 2016, a biennial combined amphibious exercise designed to strengthen interoperability and working relationships across a wide range of military operations from disaster relief to complex expeditionary operations.
