160314-N-NE195-003 CHINHAE, Republic Korea (March 14, 2016) Engineering Aide 1st Class Larzon Ong (Left) instructs a Republic of Korea (ROK) Seabee on how to properly operate the Trimble R8 GNSS Global Positioning Systems (GPS) to take a topographical survey for the initial design of a proposed road on the Chinhae Facility during the 2016 Foal Eagle exercise. Established 2001, Foal Eagle is a combined Field Training Exercise conducted annually by the ROK Armed Forces and the U.S. Armed Forces. The primary purpose of Foal Eagle is to demonstrate Republic of Korea - U.S. military resolve to deter war on the Korean peninsula and to improve the combined and joint operational posture of both forces.
