WASHINGTON (March 23, 2016) Dr. James P. Delgado, director of the maritime history for the Office of National Marine Sanctuaries at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, discusses a photograph of USS Conestoga (AT 54) crew members standing at a U.S. Navy 3-inch/50-caliber gun, which helped properly identify the shipwreck during a ceremony at the U.S. Navy Memorial. Conestoga left from Mare Island Naval Shipyard, Calif., on March 25, 1921, and was declared lost with all 56 crew members on June 30, 1921.
