LEADVILLE, CO - Hugh W. Evans, a 10th Mountain Division veteran who served in WWII, leads a line of skiers down Cooper Hill during the enduring and traditional "Ski-In" remembrance event Feb. 19, 2016, at Leadville, Colo. Following behind Evans, descendants of his WWII comrades carry the American and Norwegian Flags, followed by color bearers carrying the 10th Mountain Division and 99th Infantry Battalion (Separate) colors. Held for the 41st time, the event honors and pays tribute to those who trained, fought, and for some, sacrificed their lives in defense of the United States and its Allied partners.
