Royal Canadian Air Force Lt. Gen. Pierre St-Amand, the deputy commander of the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), U.S. Army Lt. Gen. Daniel Hokanson, the deputy commander of U.S. Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) and Dr. Brian Laslie, the NORAD and USNORTHCOM deputy command historian answer questions during a panel discussion at the Canadian Academic Symposium held in Colorado Springs, Colo. on March 30, 2016. The three day academic symposium consisted of a series of moderated discussions that focused on exposing and educating civilian academic leaders from across the United States and Canada about the mission and capabilities of both commands and how they integrate to defend North America.
