Recruits of Alpha Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, crawl under barbed wire during the Bayonet Assault Course at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, March 29. The recruits were instructed to be careful and keep the barbed wire away from their faces by using their rifles and gloves. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Alpha Company is scheduled to graduate April 22.
