CAMP HANSEN, Okinawa- Cpl. Robert Perez puts o-chlorobenzylidene malononitrile capsules onto a hot plate to form CS gas while 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit Marines test their Mission Oriented Protective Posture gear and practice reacting to a gas hazard April 1, 2016 on Camp Hansen as part of the Marine Corps' required annual gas chamber training. The 31st MEU is the Marine Corps' only continuously forward deployed unit. Perez, a native of Chicago, is a Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear defense specialist with the 31st MEU.
