CAMP HANSEN, OKINAWA, Japan- Cpl. Ethan Small, a Reconnaissance Marine with Maritime Raid Force, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, provides rope support for a Marine coming down the rappel tower on Camp Hansen in Okinawa, Japan, April 14, 2016. The Marines used the training as a way to sharpen their skills in fast roping and rappelling. Prior to each deployment, the 31st MEU is thoroughly trained in a number of unique capabilities during a fast-paced workup cycle. This type of training allows the 31st MEU to be continually ready, even while the MEU is in garrison on Okinawa. Small is a native of Lowden, Washington.(U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl.
