After an aerial insert via MV-22B Ospreys, U.S. and Philippine Marines assaulted a notional enemy force “shoulder-to-shoulder” while close air support was provided from the skies. Balikatan is an annual bilateral training exercise that strengthens the Philippine-U.S. alliance and focuses on a variety of missions in response to conflict and crises throughout the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
