A member of the Coast Guard Cutter Alex Haley's special sea detail heaves a throwing line to transfer a mooring line to the mooring crew on the pier at the Base Support Unit Kodiak Pier, Feb. 23. The Alex Haley's crew is returning to homeport after an 80 day patrol to the South Pacific where they attended Tailored Ship Training Availability and duirng a patrol rescued 28 Taiwanese fishermen from liferafts following a shipboard fire 900 miles southwest of Honolulu.
