Recruits of Charlie Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, throw dummy grenades at a designated target area after a strength and endurance course at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, April 20. This portion of the event was practice for the combat fitness test, which is a test Marines take yearly. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Charlie Company is scheduled to May 20.
