DONA ANA RANGE, NEW MEXICO– Air Force 2nd Lt. Kyle Oestreich braces himself against a gust of wind April 27 as he prepares to step off on a graded patrol during training day nine of the Air Force Security Forces Center Ranger Assessment Course 16-1. To make sure that the candidates who get very little sleep during the 15-day course, do not lose any equipment while they are on patrol, the Ranger candidates tie everything to themselves. The course, which began on April 19, will end on May 3.
