This article was originally published in the August 2014 issue of the Plains Guardian. Both retired Maj. Gen. Philip Finley and retired Command Sgt. Maj. Jack Elliott recently passed away, but their legacy of providing deceased service members with military funeral honors lives on. This is the story of how they formed the Governor and Adjutant General’s Ceremonial Platoon.
