U.S. Air National Guard Staff Sgt. Adam Olsen of the 179th Air Wing, Ohio (L) and U.S. Army National Guard Capt. Nico Smith of the 244th Digital Liaison Detachment, are members of the operation forces (OPFOR) Red Team 2 during Cyber Shield 2016 at Camp Atterbury, Ind., April 28, 2016. Blue Team members combat the operation forces of Red Team during cyber attack scenarios during the exercise. Participants from 47 states and territories represent both the Red and Blue Team teams. During the second week of the exercise, the Red Team utilizes different cyber attack scenarios that the Blue Team has to first detect, and then defend in their virtual range. Cyber Shield 2016 is an Army National Guard cyber training exercise being held April 18 to 29, 2016 designed to develop cyber-capable forces to include over 900 Soldiers, Marines, Airmen, Sailors and civilians from other federal agencies.
