Gardner Howe III, president of U.S. Naval War College (NWC) in Newport, Rhode Island, talks with an attendee of NWC's 13th Regional Alumni Symposium held in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. The symposium is designed to further strengthen the U.S. Navy's global maritime partnerships and continue the professional military education of the college's international alumni. A total of 33 alumni from 24 European nations participated in the event.
