Staff Sgt. Adam B. Ramirez, senior drill instructor of Platoon 3048, Lima Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, hands out mail to his recruits April 28, 2016, on Parris Island, S.C. Ramirez, 25, is from Riverside, Calif. Lima Company is scheduled to graduate July 8, 2016. Today, approximately 19,000 recruits come to Parris Island annually for the chance to become United States Marines by enduring 12 weeks of rigorous, transformative training.
