U.S. Marine Lt. Col. Edith Cordery (left), 5th Marine Expeditionary Brigade in Bahrain, and U.S. Army Lt. Col Virginia Cordery (right), with the Forward Contract Linguist and Intelligence program Support Office within the Intelligence and Security Command at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, are twin sisters that have served the U.S. military for 31 years in different ways. "I joined the Marine Corps to follow my fathers footsteps who was a World War II and Korean war veteran," said Edith Cordery. "I joined the U.S. Army to gain a different life experience than my sister, but still wanted to serve the U.S. military," said Virginia Cordery. Virginia Cordery happened to stop in Jordan where Edith is currently working in support of Exercise Eager Lion May 16, 2016. Eager Lion 16 is a bi-lateral exercise in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan between the Jordanian Armed Forces and the U.S. military designed to strengthen relationships and interoperability between partner nations while conducting contingency operations.
