U.S. and Georgian soldiers trained, May 21, at Vaziani Training Area, Georgia on various Georgian weapon systems, including sniper rifles, during Exercise Noble Partner. The U.S. state of Georgia is currently matched with the partner nation of Georgia as part of the State Partnership Program. The European Commands SPP is a component of the larger National Guard program, which partners U.S. states with European countries to support the command’s security cooperation objectives. Noble Partner 16 is happening May 11 to 26 and includes approximately 1300 participants from the U.S., Georgia and the U.K. The exercise is a reoccurring training event that takes place at Vaziani Training Area, Georgia. Noble Partner 16 is a critical part of Georgia's training for its contribution of a light infantry company to the NATO Response Force (NRF) and enhances Georgian territorial self-defense capability.
