13th MEU Marines shine during Exercise Eager Lion 2016

160515-M-NI439-018 TRAINING AREA 1, JORDAN (May 15, 2016) – A U.S. Marine with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit provides cover for an ally crossing a simulated danger zone as part of interoperability training during Eager Lion 2016. A danger area is a wide open space where troops would have no cover or concealment from the enemy to protect them, and must be handled with care. Exercise Eager Lion 2016 is a bilateral, scenario based exercise between the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the U.S., designed to exchange military expertise and improve interoperability among partner nations. During the sixth iteration of the exercise, both joint and combined military responses to conventional and unconventional threats will be explored. Participating troops will also train across their respective mission sets including border security, inter-ministerial command and control, cyber defense and battlespace management (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt. Paris Capers/ RELEASED).
