The Navy Fleet Marine Force pin sits on top of a promotion certificate waiting to be placed upon the newly qualified sailors. Sailors serving with Marine Corps units are required to earn their Fleet Marine Force pin within the first 18 months with the unit. The pin shows that the sailor has gone through extensive training in all things Marine Corps and that they are prepared to serve with Marines.
