U.S. Soldiers assigned to 3rd Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment, from Fort Hood Texas, conduct a two-day overnight field exercise with tactical gear May 19-20, 2016. The Soldiers conduct Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape personnel recovery training, Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear training, used the Leaders Reaction Course, conducted medical-lanes training, Humvee recovery, sling-loading training, took part in a rugged-terrain tactical road march and land navigation training at the Oberdachstetten Range Complex, Germany. Squads consisted of 10 Soldiers, the purpose of the training was to build leadership, improve team building skills, unit cohesion and esprit de corps. Under the command of the 12th Combat Aviation Brigade, the 3rd Bn., 227th Aviation Regt., is the second rotational unit deployed to Europe under the newly restructured aviation presence.
