Petty Officer 3rd Class Martin Riddle, builder, from Vale, N.C., assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 7, embarked aboard the Whidbey Island-class amphibious dock-landing ship USS Gunston Hall, references his notebook for the rough dimensions of a hole in the ceiling he is about to measure at the Sekondi School for the Deaf during a three-day community outreach project. Gunston Hall is on a scheduled deployment in West Africa in support of Africa Partnership Station West, an international initiative developed by Naval Forces Europe and Naval Forces Africa that aims to improve maritime safety and security in West and Central Africa.
