Brig. Gen. Bryan P. Fenton (left), outgoing assistant chief of staff of operation; and USARPAC commanding general, Gen. Robert B Brown, pose for a picture at a Flying "V" ceremony, May 18, with a surfboard specially designed by Fenton for the command. Fenton presented the surfboard as token of appreciation as he transitions to U.S. Special Operations Command Pacific at Camp H.M. Smith, Hawaii, after a year as Assistant Chief of Staff of Operations. The surfboard, Fenton explained, represents "'staying on top of the wave' - the waves of innovation, waves of change and waves of consequence - and not only staying on top, but riding those waves ... to be successful on our quest/journey, (while) the patches on the front symbolize who we are/what we do ... and that we are part of PACOM team and the region team - here to do our part to assure, or reassure, all elements of our commitment to be part of the region’s "One Team."
