160523-M-TM809-184 PACIFIC OCEAN (May 23, 2016) Boatswain’s Mate 2nd Class John Davis, a native of Santa Paulo, California, signals a MH-60S assigned to the Blackjacks of Helicopter Sea Combat (HSC) Squadron 21 during vertical replenishment training aboard hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19). Deployed in support of Pacific Partnership 2016, Mercy is scheduled to visit Timor Leste, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and the Republic of the Philippines during this year's mission. Medical, engineering and various other personnel embarked aboard Mercy will work side-by-side with partner nation counterparts, exchanging ideas, building best practices and relationships to ensure preparedness should disaster strike.
