JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, Hawaii (May 30, 2016) – John Dugan, a retired submarine master chief, places a lei on each of the plaques representing submarines on Eternal Patrol during the Memorial Day bell-tolling ceremony at the USS Parche Submarine Park and Memorial at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. The service honored past submariners and paid tribute to the 65 U.S. submarines lost since 1915, with 52 lost during World War II alone.
