Lieutenant Col. Deric Holbrook, commander of the Field Artillery Squadron, 2nd Cavalry Regiment, presents Mr. Prezemyslaw Omieczynski, the Lublin President of the Polish Independence Foundation, with an honorary silver spur from his unit in thanks for their hospitality and cooperation during Exercise Dragoon Ride in Lublin, Poland June 1. Citizens were able to meet Soldiers and see military equipment as well as witness the Polish cavalry and the exchange of thanks between U.S. and Polish leaders. Approximately 1,400 Soldiers, in 400 vehicles, will be covering more than 2,200 kilometers, through six countries, beginning at Rose Barracks, Germany and journeying through Poland as part of Exercise Dragoon Ride. Also taking place in Poland will be Exercise Anakonda 16, a premier training event for U.S. Army Europe and participating nations which demonstrates that the U.S. and partnering nations can effectively unite together under a unified command while training on a contemporary scenario.
