Retired Army Spc. Geoffrey G. Quevedo shows off one of his tattoos joking that it cost him “an arm and a leg,” at the unveiling of the Honoring Our Fallen Memorial Wall May 30 in Long Beach, Calif. The quip is partially true for former 10th Mountain Division Cavalry Scout; he lost most of his left arm and leg to an improvised explosive device blast in Kandahar, Afghanistan in 2011. Just days before the blast that nearly claimed Quevedo, fellow 10th Mountain Division Soldier Pfc.Theodore B. Rushing was killed under similar conditions.
