Staff Sgt. Marion McClary, a Corporals Course instructor from Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 466, Marine Aircraft Group 40, Marine Expeditionary Brigade-Afghanistan, points to the 3rd squad leader, Cpl. Dennis Nance, a student in the course from VMM-261, during a leadership principles period of instruction following the initial event of Corporals Course, here March 15. The initial event tested the students on how to use PRK-119 field radios, plot coordinates on a map, and implementing a fire plan sketch at the fire team level. On top of the preplanned stations, the Marines were tested on how well they work with one another, general Marine Corps knowledge and gave Marines the opportunity to lead.
