OMAHA BEACH, France - The 5th Engineers Special Brigade Monument was vandalized in 2014 and someone removed the large metal placard from the top of it. This crew of four are some of the guardians of the monument, who replaced the missing piece and visited for the 72nd anniversary of D-Day. The monument is placed on top of one of the casemates of the German Widerstandsnest 62 overlooking Easy Red sector of Omaha beach. (Photo by Sgt. 1st Class Crista Mary Mack)
