A framed Silver Star Medal and citation await presentation to Sgt. 1st Class Richard Harris, a special forces soldier with 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne), at his award presentation ceremony June 3, 2016 at Fort Carson, Colo. Harris earned the Silver Star for gallantry and heroic actions on Sept. 13, 2011 when he prevented a determined enemy force in Afghanistan from taking the body of his fallen team sergeant, Master Sgt.
