WESTERN PACIFIC (June 21, 2016) – Damage Controlman Fireman Rodney Stokes, from Oakland, California, instructs Seaman Rashude Sykes, from Newport News, Virginia, on how to don a Joint Service Lightweight Integrated Suit Technology (JSLIST) chemical protective garment in USS John C. Stennis' (CVN 74) forward mess decks during a damage control (DC) rodeo. The DC rodeo was a three-hour event training Sailors in various aspects of damage control. Providing a ready force supporting security and stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific, John C. Stennis is operating as part of the Great Green Fleet on a regularly scheduled 7th Fleet deployment.
