Marines in Basic Reconnaissance Training at the School of Infantry West use range finders and binoculars from an over watch position to radio target locations to mortarman with Company D, 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division, aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., June 22, 2016. The Marines must accurately locate their targets and relay the information to the mortarman to become certified as forward observers.
