CARTAGENA, Colombia -- U.S. Navy Adm. Kurt W. Tidd, commander of U.S. Southern Command takes part in a panel on “lessons learned and best practices in efforts to counter security threats” during the Meeting of the Northern Triangle Defense and Security Ministers hosted by Colombia’s Ministry of Defense June 24 in Cartagena. The aim of the one-day event was to address the security issues impacting the region in Central America that includes El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras, as well as facilitate the exchange of best practices, and identify strategic opportunities to strengthen security capabilities.
