KAILUA, HAWAII – Col. Sean Killeen, the commanding officer of Marine Corps Base Hawaii, and a Mendelian, Ill., native, listens to a community member about the loud noise made from aircraft at an open house for the Air Installation Compatible Use Zone Study update, at Aikahi Elementary School in Kailua, Hawaii, June 16, 2016. Representatives from the Navy and Marine Corps were present to answer questions from concerned citizens about the AICUZ Study update during the open house. The update identifies aircraft noise and accident potential zones created by anticipated flying operations at Marine Corps Base Hawaii. The purpose of the AICUZ program is to help ensure the health, safety and welfare of the citizens in the surrounding communities while preserving the operational capabilities of MCB Hawaii.
