Recruits from India Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, prepare to compete against each other during Pugil Sticks III at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, June 21. Before each battle, recruits were paired up by their weight to ensure an even match, so there weren’t any advantages. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. India Company is scheduled to graduate July 15.
