With respectful homage to the unsung heroes of Dunkirk in the early days of World War Two, Dr. Ron Dommermuth, retired Navy captain and physician, as guest speaker at the graduation ceremony remarked that this year’s class of NHB graduating residents exhibited the same grit and determination to ensure the job got done so others may continue on. It was the third time Dommermuth has spoken at a ceremony honoring the residents. He has the longest tenure associated with the program, going through his residency as a young Navy lieutenant from 1991to1994, then returning as a staff physician, followed by duty as assistant program director, program director, director of medical services and currently as a faculty physician in civilian capacity (Official Navy photo by Douglas H Stutz, NHB Public Affairs).
