An ambulance is hit by a simulated improvised explosive device during a field exercise aboard Camp Lejeune, N.C., April 12-18. The exercise focused on improvised explosive device training, basic urban skills training and Afghan cultural training using Afghan role players as well as medical training for Marines and sailors in order to prepare the battalion for upcoming deployments to Afghanistan.
