FORT CARSON, Colorado – Combat engineers from Company B, 588th Brigade Engineer Battalion, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, operating a Buffalo Mine Protected Clearance Vehicle interrogate an inert 155mm artillery shell serving as a pressure-plate improvised explosive devise while training on route clearance operations July 10, 2016, during 3rd ABCT’s Iron Strike field training exercise on Fort Carson’s training area. Iron Strike, a 17-day combat scenario pitting the Iron Brigade against a notional near-peer adversary, served as the final home-station test f prior to a National Training Center rotation starting in mid-August.
