Sarah Rice, Ph.D and Far Western senior archaeologist, field director for the project records measurments given to her by Mike Lindsey, Crew Chief, Far Western, and assited by Tim Dan, Archaeological Technician, Far Western. In July, a team of archaeologists working on the Utah Test and Training Range discovered a 12,300-year-old burn pit—an archaeological “feature”—and artifacts, they then shared their findings and the site with representitives from the stae of Utah, the Air Force and DOD media.
