YOKOSUKA, Japan (July 29, 2016) Vice Adm. Joseph Aucoin, left, Rear Adm. Charles Williams and Rear Adm. John Alexander cut the commemorative cake after the Commander, Task Force 70 (CTF 70) change of command ceremony aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). During the ceremony, Rear Adm. John Alexander turned over command of CTF 70 to Rear Adm. Charles Williams. CTF 70 has tactical control of carrier strike groups, cruisers, and destroyers that deploy or transit through the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations. The CTF 70 Commander also serves as Commander, Carrier Strike Group Five (CSG 5), the Navy’s forward deployed strike group centered around USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) and the embarked air wing, Carrier Air Wing Five (CVW 5).
