Charity Whitfield, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 4, during Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Timor-Leste 2016. The focus of CARAT is developing maritime security capabilities and increasing interoperability among participants. Skill areas exercised during CARAT include Maritime Interdiction Operations; riverine, amphibious and undersea warfare operations; diving and salvage operations; naval gunnery and maneuvering events, along with disaster response exercises.
