MITTENWALD, Germany -- After a long day of rain, rucking and climbing, Soldiers from the 18th Military Police Brigade and Bundeswehr return to their home base during exercise Alpinedistel 2016. The two-day German mountain warfare training exercise took place July 20-21 and July 27-28 here. It's designed to challenge the physical and mental toughness of the participants as well as prove their proficiency in mountain operations.
