160810-N-WA993-092 YOKOSUKA, Japan (Aug. 10, 2016) Sailors contact the ship about their location while doing maintenance on a high-frequency radio group antenna on the port catwalk of the Navy's only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). According to Chief Electronics Technician (SW/AW) Rachel Hogan, center, high frequency is the most reliable form of communication. “If we lose satellite communications or line-of-sight, high frequency will be the back up.” Ronald Reagan provides a combat-ready force, which protects and defends the collective maritime interests of the U.S. and its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
