The Washington State Military Transition Council gathered on Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, Aug. 8, to hear from service members and Soldier For Life – Transition Assistance Program coordinators in an effort to continue to streamline the transition process for service members leaving the military. The Army's SFL-TAP gives service members resources to make the jump from Soldier to civilian life easier by providing them with access to mentors, classes and higher education resources for civilian certificates in fields that relate to their military experience.
