(Aug. 13, 2016) Chief selects, assigned to Naval Special Warfare, receive a short history lesson on NSW’s part in the Vietnam War from Chuck Chaldekas, retired Navy SEAL, before conducting a community service project at U.S. Navy/ U.S. Coast Guard Vietnam Unit Memorial Monument at Naval Amphibious Base Coronado. The Vietnam memorial honors the riverine Sailors who served in the Vietnam War. An All-volunteer force of six to eight Vietnam War veterans maintains the memorial.
